Kumho Tyres – Seoul, Korea – July 28, 2008) – Kumho Tires announced today that its Solus KR21 achieved a top ranking in an end-user survey conducted by Tire Rack, the largest online tire seller in the US.
The survey pit the Solus KR21, Kumho’s standard touring all-season tire, against 26 other models from competitors including Bridgestone, Goodyear and Continental.
The tire excelled in twelve categories including repurchase intention, ride comfort, cornering stability, wet traction, snow traction, and ice traction. Specifically, the Solus KR21 scored very high on hydroplaning resistance, ride comfort and tread wear proving its superior quality.
According to Tire Rack’s independent test results, the Solus KR21 “offers a refined balance of long wear, low noise and good ride, with confidence-inspiring handling and all-season traction, even in light snow.” Kumho developed the Solus KR21 to meet the needs of the drivers of coupes, sedans, minivans and crossover vehicles. Survey results were based on feedback from Tire Rack customers who collectively drove over 1 million miles on Kumho’s Solus KR21 tires.
“These survey results show that end users appreciate Kumho Tires’ efforts to improve product quality and consumer satisfaction,” said Sae-chul Oh, President and CEO of Kumho Tires. “We are working toward our goal of becoming one of the world’s top five tire makers by 2015 by increasing our overall production and expanding our production base in North America.
